American Office & Sustainability
In our industry, “going green” is more than a tag line; it’s about creating a new way to work. It’s about changing manufacturing methods to reduce waste, creating innovative designs with renewable resources, and finding new ways to pack and ship.
For American Office, it means:
- Educating ourselves and our customers
- Encouraging our staff to become LEED Accredited Professionals
- Aligning ourselves with socially responsible manufacturers
- Incorporating sustainable design into their facilities and/or achieving LEED Certification or their space
- Offering refurbishment, recycling, and repurposing solutions to our clients
- Reducing our impact on the environment through operational efficiency
Through these methods, we help ourselves and our clients make educated, responsible decisions for the workplace.
Herman Miller Environmental Advocacy
More than half a century ago, Herman Miller's founder, D.J. De Pree, set his company on a path toward environmental stewardship.
Today, Herman Miller is recognized as an industry leader in environmentally responsible product design and manufacturing. Herman Miller does not advocate for the environment to win awards, they do it for the simple reason that they believe protecting our fragile environment is the right thing to do.
